JenniferI am Jennifer Scales, a photographer and traveler from Bavaria.
Since childhood, I have been fascinated by train journeys—the fleeting moments glimpsed through the train window still shape my artistic work today. In my photographs, I capture the beauty of these transient moments. Through motion blur and long exposures, I create images that reflect the dynamism and transformation of landscapes.
For me, the magic of travel lies not only in the destination but especially in the spaces in between—the nameless places between departure and arrival.
Since 2021, I have dedicated myself to my project “Travelscapes,” in which I travel across Europe by train and document the nature along the tracks. This work goes beyond pure aesthetics: it seeks to capture the changes in the landscapes and convey the universal experience of traveling by rail.
My photographs are more than just landscapes—they invite viewers to immerse themselves in the journey, discover fleeting details, and appreciate the moment that exists only briefly. My works have been shown in numerous exhibitions in Germany and internationally.
I am currently preparing a book project that embeds my photographs in a boundless European nature.
The idea of an international artist community like “Artists in Motion” excites me. I would like to contribute my perspective and learn from others, because art connects us all.
