My pictures arise from two different motivations: Either I try to capture certain moments, moods, landscapes, memories, or feelings, whether concrete or abstract. Or I experiment—with new techniques, styles, colors, materials. Most of the time, I try to do both at the same time, which is why you won't find any “artistic identity” or typical signature style in my work (yet?). Maybe that will never change, because maybe I don't want it: I find it too exciting to keep trying new things. On the other hand, I always return to representational painting and describe myself as “solvent-addicted,” because oil paints have a very special “sensuality” for me. Time will tell where my path will lead me. In any case, my premise is: a painting is good if I would like to hang it on my wall. That's it!
Born and rooted in Munich, I have always enjoyed traveling a lot. That's why the “Artists in Motion” community appeals to me so much, and I am very happy to be a part of it :-) I am a member of AiM as a painter, but I also play the saxophone, enjoy photography, and write occasionally...
