 From reality to fantasy.
In these small etchings, often depicting animal-like figures with human traits, I express his own experience of thoughts, emotions, events, and situations.
Sometimes I do so in a humorous way, winking at the thoughts or situations depicted by the characters, often making it impossible to suppress a smile. Other times I do so in a mocking, cynical, emotionally charged, or critically reflective manner, prompting the viewer to reflect, or limiting the image to an illustrative representation.
The often finely drawn etchings are all little stories based on real events, customs or traditions, moods, thoughts or fantasies, opinions and views, and thus also tell us something about myself.
In my etchings, I organize, documents, and illustrate the world around me, as I experience it, and want to share and influence the viewer.
I would like to get in touch and stay in touch with other artists to learn about and understand their intentions. I would also like to share my own work and its meaning with them. This will enrich and possibly stimulate and inspire both me and them.
