 "For me art is travelling the mind"
Born in 1949, I studied art and art history at the Academy in Tilburg, where I received my diploma in 1978. I taught aesthetics from 1970 to 1990.
In 1983, I had my first exhibition of oil paintings. Since then, I have regularly exhibited my oil-paintings, water-colours, stone lithographs, mixed media on aludibond, ceramic objects and sculptures in bronze and synthetic resin in The Netherlands and other countries at a number of well-known galleries and art fairs.
Since 2003, when the election of the Dutch Artist of the Year started, I have always been among the 25 most popular artists of the country, together with, for example, already world-famous female artists as Marlene Dumas, Rineke Dijkstra, Claudy Jongstra.
In 2016, I was chosen as the official Dutch Brilliant Artist of that year.
I also took part in illustrating special French editions of the Iliad and Odyssee by Homer, the Divina Commedia by Dante, the Légende d'orée by Jacques de Voragine and the Islandic Edda.
