Hélène Argo

Singer, composer and songwriter
Paris, France

Hélène 2bCradled between Normandy and Martinique, she grew up to the sound of international pop, French variety, Afro-Caribbean and classical music.
While her first records were inspired by North American Nu'Soul, recent years have seen a return to her West Indian roots and a deep inclination for Afro-Brazilian music.
Hélène's many musical adventures include Moacyr Luz, Bebê Kramer, Dominique Fillon, Laurent Coulondre, Gabriel Grossi, Paris Gadjo Club and the Clube dos Democráticos, not to mention young audiences with Serena Fisseau and the musical tale Sage comme singe.
Deeply attached to her mother tongue, the singer-songwriter is also developing her “pop open to winds from elsewhere”, under the pseudonym La Réjane.
Writing in poetic, demanding French has paved the way for the creation of free lyrics in which words resonate with their own music.
With her keen interest in the visual arts, she sees Artists In Motion as a chance to discover and meet new artists, as well as a welcome incentive to step outside her usual creative framework.
