At the core of Birgit Schweimler’s work lies her curiosity to explore complex interactions between various surface textures and chromatic layers. Her images also frequently develop while listening to music, especially electronic soundscapes, and ambient music.
She worked as a social worker in several organizations and studied Art therapy in Munich (A.K.T). She has been a freelance artist since 2016 and has worked in a studio community at www.gewerkhaus.de in Dießen, Bavaria since 2026.
She has organized several Solo and group-exhibitions and has taken part in various exhibitions, in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Belgium, Italy and France. She‘s also regularly involved in open studios.
