As a primarily self-taught artist, my life experience helps me to work in a multi-layered and contrasting manner. I am interested in the tension between the individual and at the same time universal human existence - the complex relationship with the environment, marginal areas, ambivalences, blind spots and fallibilities. My acrylic, casein and charcoal paintings tell lyrical and symbolic stories to the viewer inviting to trace one's own existence within the complexity of our world. Leave it at that I have a wide scope for interpretation between hope, dare and failure. Where are they going? Image journey leads, remains open. The question always arises: what is illusion and what is reality? I interweave figurative sharpness with metaphysical landscapes and changing painting techniques. Image, color and light composition create tension in the style of “Fantastic Realism”.
