Regina Aigner

Painter and woodcut artist
Vienna, Austria

Otie 1I worked for 40 years with students facing social and emotional difficulties, and I have been practising as a psychotherapist for 30 years. I have been artistically active since 2002, and in 2012 I discovered woodcut printing, which has since become my preferred technique.
Because woodcut is a very labour-intensive technique, I continue to produce works mainly in graphite and pastel so that I can make ideas visible more quickly. The unconscious plays an important role in all my activities.
