Catriona Henderson-Darroch

Watercolour artist
Argyll, Scotland

CatrionaAs a watercolour artist, I find this medium fascinating, addictive, unpredictable and a challenge to the imagination. I love nature and paint mainly landscapes.
Watercolours have a life of their own and I merely help shape their watery ways.
I love their depth of colour, translucency and flowing nature.
I work from real life, drawing & painting by a beach, or up the hills, studying the scene, the light and shade, the colours, the plant life and birds, feeling the sun and tasting the wind of the West Coast of Scotland.
I feel very much part of the landscape in which I sit, sharing the past and the day with those who have lived and loved here before me on this land.
I hope to convey the joy and wonder of the natural world through my work.
